exerpt from my little book of the heart, september 2010.

felt so odd today, as if the outside was curled around me in here. rustling always.
the breeze was so sweet and it crept in like shy affections, wrapped itself in my hair, making a home amongst the tangles, smelling of rain and dirt and trees. it is raining now. rain is like hearts. i like how all the raindrops i hear tonight can make people similar. because you can pick patterns of these raindrops out to keep in time with any heartbeat on this world. maybe rain is the earth's heartbeat. it is always raining somewhere, after all, so maybe when it speeds up the world is excited or in love.
so then, after that, ponder thunderstorms.

  1. That is so beautiful! The use of personification is excellent, and the imagery is stunning. What a breathtaking exerpt. <3 xx

  2. You do have the most wonderful, curious mind. I know the feeling of the outside coming inside, I have heard these soft murmurs wrapping themselves around me many times. (Ps, I imagine, from what you have said, that thunderstorms are the world at love's end.) x

  6. Rain is the most wonderful, isn't it? Like a ghost of feeling forever felt in each drop.
